Women's Suffrage Day

New Zealand was the first nation to bring in universal adult suffrage in 1893. The anniversary of Women's Suffrage not only provides an opportunity to remember the gains and pay homage to the generations of women who have continued to fight for social change, but also to challenge the remaining barriers that prevent women's full economic and social participation in New Zealand society.
