New Zealand's 6th CEDAW report to the United Nations has been released.
Action Plan goals
The Action Plan for New Zealand Women is a whole-of-government plan to improve women’s lives in the home, workplace and community. It includes actions to improve outcomes for older women.
- Enhance the provision of financial advice to women to improve their uptake of retirement saving schemes and to help them in providing for their families/whānau (action 1.2.1).
- Establish primary health organisations in rural areas to improve access to primary health care for women and their families (action 3.1.5).
- Improve the safety and well-being of women, particularly in relation to elder abuse/ neglect (action 3.2.1).
